About the Behavioral Health Research Lab: The BHRL team conducts research with Veterans suffering from chronic medical conditions, including chronic pain, Gulf War Illness, and other complex medically-unexplained syndromes. Our research focuses on understanding Veterans’ views of their health and developing innovative patient-centered behavioral interventions to improve quality of life and health outcomes. Areas of special focus (and potential areas of research) include behavioral treatment for chronic pain, suicide treatment/prevention, mental health service delivery through video and internet-based interventions, and patient-provider communication. https://www.mcandrewhealthlab.com/

Position Summary:
- Responsible for working with the PI to coordinate and grow an existing large, grant-funded clinical research program.
- Leads a multidisciplinary team that includes research assistants, study coordinators, psychologists and nurse practitioners.
- Administration of studies including submission of annual reports and research protocols to research office for review by IRB and funding agencies.
- Supervise recruitment of Veterans, conduct assessments, ensure adherence to protocol during experimental interventions.
- Facilitate growth of program by collaborating with PI to develop study protocols, write journal articles, conference presentations, and developing new grant proposals to federal agencies and non-federal entities.
- Follow standards for human research protections and regulatory guidelines as established by national organizations, oversight committees, and the local Institutional Review Board.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Doctoral Degree
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups
- Experience conducting research
Salary Range:
- $74,000 - $138,500 annually depending on location, degree and qualifications
